Hi 23andwalnut, if you click on the item’s Download button, you will then see the option to download the License Certificate.

Perfect. Thanks. I didn’t realize it was a dropdown.

@charliesome Where is the link for the license certificate on non-wordpress items? It looks like it used to be right next to the “Regular License” link, but it’s not there anymore…

I don’t have a strong opinion on this issue, but it seems like both of the mods that responded misunderstood what SportTipsWorld is describing.

The issue is with the list view, not the home page. Click the ‘All Files’ link and you should see what he’s referring to…

If an author uploaded 30 files in the same day, he could push all other authors from the first page, even if other authors uploaded files on the same day. This could definitely be unfair…

I’ve been reading this thread with interest. While rules are rules, and yes we all need to set the money to pay out, i don’t understand why Envato don’t allow the authors to set the withdrawel to ‘automatically pay out each month’, and it renews itself each month. Then problems and situations like this would easily be avoided.
Or just institute a fee for late withdrawal requests. Enough to
  1. Cover whatever costs are associated with processing a late withdrawal request
  2. Deter authors from forgetting all the time

I have to agree with others. The new position of the upload box is a huge step backwards in terms of usability – for the exact reasons GravityDept already stated. I upload new items very infrequently, but I check the item comments several times a day. I will probably just modify one of the many chrome plugins I already use on the marketplaces to hide this new box, but I wish I didn’t have to…

@dtbaker: none of those are open source :P
the source is open, and the buyer is free to make changes to the code. this means it is open source. open source does not mean “free” as in $, just free as in freedom, a very common misunderstanding and one I was (rather rudely) made aware of at a conference recently.

In production and development, open source is a philosophy, or pragmatic methodology that promotes free redistribution and access to an end product’s design and implementation details

Not sure whoever told you that was right because I don’t think you can freely redistribute items from CodeCanyon.

dtbaker is right. The first sentence in the wikipedia article you quoted says:

This article is about the production and development model. For its application to software, see Open-source software…

If you look at the article for “open source software” it says:

Open-source software (OSS) is computer software that is available in source code form: the source code and certain other rights normally reserved for copyright holders are provided under an open-source license that permits users to study, change, improve and at times also to distribute the software.

Notice that it says “and at times distribute the software”, which means that distribution rights, free or otherwise, are not required…

Not a theme, but probably has most of the functionality you’re looking for: http://codecanyon.net/item/digital-downloads-pro/93374?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=search_item&WT.z_author=gewa13

If those are your only requirements, I don’t think you need a full blown plugin. See here: http://jsfiddle.net/JzVAe/

There’s no need for a free version (free trial – yes, to test it). We’re all making money here and if you’re providing a service that saves us time we should pay for it. Nobody can live from eating air :) How much money? I have no idea, have to see the app first.
