Klout is a Tool (website) wich measures your Social Networks influence. Looks like is very considered in some realities such as event organizations, public relations etc.. Many industries and companies started to take Klout as a “ruler” to measure the real influence somebody has in the web, and use it to hire or not hire people. Shortly it goes in the CV of copywriters, PRs, social gurus, bloggers etc…
The score is from 10 to 100 (Youtube has 100), now:
how is it possible that Envato has an influence of 50 . Envato as a company is God in this industry.. how is it possible that, for Klout, Envato doesn’t have any direct influence on people. Envato influences thousands of hundreds of people everyday, teaching and selling. The fact that some companies, such as Envato, has a low Klout, makes me think that:
the score is simply related on how much you INTERACT with people and not how much you really influence them.
Could be so cool to receive an answer from the staff! I’d like to know your opinion about that, because at the beginning I was thrilled by Klout, but then I realized that is quite a crap

I find it quite difficult to figure out the real group you’re targeting… are you targeting other designers looking for quality stock to save some time? Or are you targeting John Doe who has no clue about any of this at all? Obviously the best is trying to get both of them.
Yep exactly… it’s hard to explain what is a Photoshop Action and how it works, and why you have to buy mine to both type of users. It’s something really difficult: I was now thinking to open a blog and create video tuts with my bad italian accent, so I can show and acquire new customers, and explain what my stuff does.
Maybe some would like to buy an item, if only he understands why he needs it.
@Wonderart Frankly the only useful infos I can see, is that a lot of buyers search in Google the files they see here, with the word “free”
yes analytics helps me a bit but looking at where do they come from, how many etc… but looking at numbers they don’t make a sum of 50K a month, for sure.
BTW I think Jin Wook spotted the solution… I hate them… I hate to send tons of DMCA

EHEH maybe loswl spotted the right solution!
@CRSDesign, no unfortunately I don’t have any tools wich allow to check where the refs comes from with precision.
@JinWook yep it’s huge.. and also they’re new every month, I mean 50K every month where the hell do they come from, because they’re new people or wouldn’t count as clickthroughs…
I will try to figure out where they come from, may be when we’ll have some tools to check our refs I will understand it
My objective is to transform that number of visitors into a nicer income …

Yep I’m pretty expert about this stuff… I know what you mean guys, the fact is that I’m sure the niche is absolutely correct. I jumped from 3K clickthroughs to 50K in like a month and it’s weird, because I’ve checked my stats in the social networks I have, and they are not able to generate that traffic. The conclusion I reached is that Google indicize me a lot more than it should at DeviantArt and then my files appear when searching unrelated things.
I should probably try to present better my profile? Probably I’m not clear when marketing myself, I design mainly Actions and Add-ons, so probably the fact that “is not clear what I’m selling here” just scary out all the people that are not expert in PS, even if they could something of mine. I mean when I show to my friends what I sell, the say “what the hell is that, and WHY ” but then when I explain in detail, they agree in saying that it could have sense to buy sth like a set of Layer Styles for example.
I mean this is my same reaction when I go in CodeCanyon…I think “what the hell is that” just because the language is too technical, too specific to involve a new user (and create a new necessity for him).
So probably I should present myself in a different clearer way.. and try to explain better what I’m selling.
what do you think?
