SEO is really an abstract concept because no matter how good you are at drawing traffic to your site if the users hit an impossible-to-navigate landing page then they’ll leave immediately. If a theme is well designed people will find it easy to navigate and interact with and subsequently stay on the site longer. That’ll increase average time on site and most probably decrease bounce rate.

You’re at the right place for well designed themes.

Click-through’s have gone down sharply but oddly enough my sales have remained consistent. I’ve noticed that’s been a trend over the past couple of years.

This month has been brutal. Even with an increase in my traffic, sales still way below projected values.

There’s probably a market for trading web property just like and real-world property.

Maybe that’s an entirely new marketplace, an auction house for selling and buying accounts and all their intellectual property.

Pretty good. I’m still waiting on that one myself.

One a high note though, I did get a my first $30 referral not too long ago.

I use both and personally find I get very little referral from either. That could quite possibly just be me not taking enough interest in either community though.

I also can’t stand the category sub-divisions and search on Behance. Trying to find anything specific on that site is infuriating.

Coincidentally, we had a baboon raid yesterday. I was alone in my studio midday when 20 of them raided. Alpha Male opened my front door, while i was chasing others out of the vegetable garden. He opened the fridge and took eggs, bananas and pawpaw. I came in the back and he left, only to return through the bedroom skylight, By this time i was terrified and he knew it. All i could do was let him do his thing. The garden is once again a bomb site after all the rocks and pots have been upturned for insects, and i have no fruit or eggs left. But hey, there won’t be any scorpions around for a while. It’s illegal to shoot them, but i know how to make a powerful catapult. :)

At first I thought you were trolling but then I saw you live in Knysna. Dangerous baboons up there. You should move down to Cape Town joiaco. Nothing but beaches, good looking women and a mountain.

Anyway, getting back on topic: I think Envato is the most revolutionary web group that has ever been developed for us in our respective creative industries.

It’s difficult for everyone one all over the world at the moment but Envato has given us a lifeline that most people in other industries don’t have the fortune of having. Being able to develop a portfolio which you can supplement your salary with by earning passive income it’s exactly what a lot of people could use right now in today’s economy.

I’ve always encouraged people who have asked me about finance to build portfolios outside of their 9-5 job. Having your work earn you money passively is the key to financial independence. Whether it’s some real estate you earn rent from, a stock portfolio you earn growth and dividends from or an online marketplace like this, having your work earn you money and not your time is a fundamental way to escaping the rat race.

How ironic, it’s not the financial guys but the creatives that are in a stronger financial position than everyone else at the moment.
