I would love to see: 1) upgrade path for existing buyers
2) featured updates
3) separate recent updates list
4) a way to notify all buyers a new update is available.

If I want to buy a new version of a file here (a top file of 30-40) I would have to shell out for the new file. Why is there no facility in place to allow sellers offer upgrade prices to people who have bought version 1 etc. Some Developers are great for adding in a lot of updates without going for a complete new file but a lot of elitist do not.
Some authors do, some dont. You may get more sales and a better rating for doing this, you may not. However I personally feel that in doing this you are working for barely anything… giving constant upgrades etc that some authors do (several top files are in their 5-6 iteration now) you are putting in sometimes some serious hours and yes it will bring you perhaps more sales but will it bring you the same rate as your freelance? I doubt it.
What I find amusing here is that initially everyone is amazed by prices and cant get enough of it. After time comments such as “shelling out” and “do I have to buy the new version” begin to appear which is a little cheeky considering what you get when you “shell out”.
If an author spends 100 hours on a V2 of a file which will sell for $40 a piece, why should he give that to you for free?? $40 is daylight friggin robbery and yet your asking for it for free? Come on, please.

I’ve even had engineers from adobe tell me first hand that Flash 10 was not meant to replace 3D engines like papervision or away, and is just a tool to help in certain applications![]()
+1.
They saw the community getting largely interested and a lot of hype following the 3D engines and are giving them more of a boost by implementing these features. This API was never built to harm PV3D / AWAY / SANDY etc and every seminar ive been to they’ve made quite a point at stressing that
This is a really informative post guys, cheers for the input

The browser scrollbar is in most of the cases more user friendly than any other flash scrollbar.
But you could imitate it exactly and just add super sexy easing to it

Yeah, I don’t get why you’d want to be a supporter of one of these theories. If you are right, then oh well, no one is going to be alive to congratulate you for it, and if you’re wrong then get ridiculed forever for it. On the other hand, be like me and proclaim it all to be bullshit, and if you’re wrong, no one will be around to tell you otherwise, and if you’re right then you get the satisfaction of telling those morons offNow I have a few problems with these guys… they seem to have one thing in common: Web design a 3 year old can pull off. Also, why bother with Google Ad-sense if the world’s gonna end – your money will be useless if your dead – no? Idiots.![]()
