Basically I was rejected because there are too many cards of this type. Any suggestions on how to make it more unique. http://supersamsdiscount.com/productimages/Detail1285040303.jpg
Wow such nice responses from you all.
Me upon discovering envato
What a great way to make money, let me look through the files to see which are selling best and try to make something similar but unique. Hmmmm everyone seems to buy black business cards, so I am off to make a black business card that I feel is unique and not necessarily basic.
Me yesterday, just got rejected multiple times
Then I started looking at multiple files that were being accepted (sure I can not see who else is being rejected but I can see who is being accepted). I feel those files fit the criteria that I have been rejected on. Why am I getting rejected and these are not.
I then go to the forums to post
ArikB you are right I did make that accusation mainly out of frustration, I apologize.
And yes I did over generalize but I wonder what the market would be like if the market could dictate what sells. I do understand that the files take up space on servers and cost bandwidth.
How about a option where we could pay for our files to be posted?
There is no doubt that envato is the best place to market our designs and not being able to get your foot in the door becomes quite frustrating especially when you see others getting approved for something you were just rejected on.
To my point exactly, Thanks Philmo! Although I am not certain you get the Apple analogy as I was not seriously implying that I would do that myself. Bgm am certain you take great pride and are of utmost professionalism my main question is why not let the market dictate what sells versus saying we have too many of a certain item?
Thanks for the positive response, I will post some images there for comment.
I have fixed, according to the comments they provided but there is always something new. Finally with my last submission I received the following comment:
“Unfortunately, we cannot accept your file. Though there may not be anything wrong with your file, we have plenty of this file type already. This doesn’t mean we won’t ever accept another file like this, it just means that if you want to upload one, you’ll need to take a unique approach or somehow make it better than the ones we already have. Since your file is being rejected due to the type, we kindly ask you not to re-upload it. Please refer to the following article to see what kind of file we do and don’t need: http://wiki.envato.com/selling/tips-selling/graphicriver-files-we-need-and-dont-need/
I personally see it as unique especially in comparison to the others currently being accepted and that’s what makes me wonder. I am not taking this out on the reviewer but I am simply asking why not let the market dictate the quality of an item vs a reviewer. I do agree that someone needs to review an item to make sure it is what it says it is but after that why not let the market dictate?
I am looking for alternatives, I just had high hopes for this place. I do understand the idea of having to trust the reviewers but my point is that there is a conflict of interest. I guess I am a little frustrated seeing items approved that I believe are of far less quality than the ones that I am submitting. Since you have many items approved maybe you can help me out. I will send you the files and you can compare those vs the ones recently approved and tell me where I am going wrong.
Say I am apple, I create the ipod. I also control all the future mp3 players released onto the market by others. It is in my best interest to prevent anything better than my product from being released. Hmmmmmmm
Anywhere in the business world this would be considered a conflict of interest. How is it possible that the ones reviewing/approving you are your direct competition? How can the reviewer determine what is consider basic or salable on the market. Why can’t we let the market dictate and focus on getting rid of the non sellers. In terms of business cards there are currently 492 out of 1417 that have received 10 or more sales, that is roughly 35% of the total. I believe with the current set up of the reviewer also being competition the end user will suffer. On second thought how can I become a reviewer?
