+1 I’ve felt this way for a while now. If you randomly come across your music somewhere there is no way in the world to tell if they bought it or stole it. You think it’s just one of the many licenses you sell. We give badges out for stopping copyright violations but how are you supposed to tell? Also, it would really be helpful to know what percentages come from web videos, how much from flash games, etc. to help us focus on what sells.

they emailed me two weeks ago asking for a special edit without the whistle, i gave it to him an hour later and they said that if their client approves the song he will let me know. I get an email yesterday with a link to the video, which has 8 variations so he bought 8(!!!) licenses!

If your track is sub par you might as well recycle the ideas and make a new track out of them. I would wait until you have the new track ready. Example, i had a romantic surf song that did nothing for a year, so i remade it as a piano and strings track, same Melody and chords. Now it sells.

I’ve got missing ratings too, unfortunately I don’t know how many are gone, but for sure one of my tracks which was 5 star with at least 5 5 star ratings has vanished!

Haha no, it did pay for the deposit and the first months rent, however. I’ve been spending all of my spare money on music gear for 15 years now. The drumset is what I’ve had the longest, just been adding and adding.
