Never crossed my mind to do this until today:

The custom search bar then shows the results in a popup, centered on the page:

Super easy to add. Just login to Google and then visit:

http://www.google.com/cse/

Then click “new search engine”, give it a name and then use this format for the url:

http://yourmarketplace.net/item/name-of-item/discussion/*

Wanted to share in case others might find it useful :)

Sweet idea. Could do the same for FAQ items as well. Can both discussions and faq be included in the same google custom search?

Awesome idea :) Once you create one it will show under “my search engines”. Click on “control panel” and then “sites” and it looks like you can add additional urls to combine them.
