Hello,

One of my clients has asked to find/build a website that will do the following:

  • Be a website where he can add content once it is live. This content will be a photo and a description – it will have a preview on the home page and once clicked will lead to its own page.
  • Also be simple to use for people to browse
  • Have a contact page
  • So as you can see from my portfolio I am graphic designer and not a web designer. However I was wondering if there are any templates on Themeforest that I can purchase and use to set this type of website up? So i will create the design to fit in with his company style and then basically pass the website over to him for updating maintaining.

Also what format would be suitable, wordpress or a basic html template?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Sleight

Hey thanks for the quick reply GopalDasa,

So lets say I buy a wordpress theme, create the art work and upload it to a hosting company.

Will my client need any specific software to access the website to add content? Or can they login directly to the backend of the wordpress theme and add content there?

    Thanks again :)

They won’t need any special software, and WordPress backend can do everything for them to edit the content, add the new pages, delete/modify and almost everything. It is really powerful CMS .

In case if you need my help with WordPress, then please feel free to contact me.

I love WordPress and its flexibilities and due to this reason, I suggest my clients to go with WordPress if they ask me to create their simple html site.

I agree with you GopalDasa. It seems like Wordpress has it all and is upgrading from time to time. It is adding features like every once in a while. I think it is the most used client out there especially for blogs.
