If everybody does it, becomes a mess…this shouldn’t be allowed. Neither should be allowed to updload the same items multiple times in the markets. I don’t think it’s a problem right now, but if everybody starts creating multiple accounts, with the same files and the same stuff, the market loses popularity and quality.
A lot of people is starting to do this, personally I don’t think the Envato should allow it, I’m not blaming any user wich just makes his own interests.
I believe some people do it to sell exclusive and non-exclusive items. The way the current system works, there is no other way to achieve this than multiple accounts.
As far as multiple versions of the same item, I’m not sure this is even allowed?
As far as the same item is not uploaded (something that is not allowed) I don’t see what the problem is….
What do you mean by “if everybody starts creating multiple accounts, with the same files”? Envato allows multiple accounts, but it’s forbidden to upload the same files on different accounts.
Having multiple accounts can be useful for many reasons – selling both exclusively and non-exclusively and collaborations, for example. It could also be useful to have separate accounts for different marketplaces or possibly even for different types of item in one marketplace.
The only issue I’d have with it is if people were selling the same items through multiple accounts, but that isn’t allowed anyway.

Pretty much sure you’ve spotted someone uploading same stuff from two accounts, isn’t it Giallo?
Other than that I don’t find any problem unless a single individual tries to flood the homepage in shadows of multiple accounts. That would be a real problem because then the rule of one item per author on front page will be rendered useless.

Creating multiple accounts for the sake of more exposure on the homepage is against Envato’s terms, and so, the accounts will be banned.
As mentioned above, creating multiple accounts for the sake of selling exclusively and non-exclusively is ok and many Authors do it.
Currently there is no option to set individual files to non-exclusive, so, creating a separate account is the only method to do so.
Collaboration is also another reason for creating multiple accounts.
As for uploading the same items to different accounts, this wouldn’t be allowed and the Reviewers wouldn’t let it pass.
In my personal opinion, in the great scheme of things, I can’t see any large amount of Authors who have multiple accounts and I can’t see why you would find it a problem.
Giallo hie,
creating multiple accounts is not a crime and can never be a bad thing, when an author is abiding by the terms and conditions of envato.it is always helpful for the author, if he thinks so to earn more. there is nothing wrong in it. i have seen people doing it on themeforest, selling wordpress version in one account and selling PSD version in his different account. i have seen some authors from audiojungle selling his exclusive collections in one account and selling non exclusive ones in his other one. i also saw some people selling his flyer designs in one account and selling web elements on his other account. there is simply nothing bad about it.
we have to admit, that this is a huge marketplace with tons of authors selling their digital goods.picking out violators one by one, is impossible and lengthy process as well. so this is what can be done, you should report the author and mention the links as soon as you get some solid evidence , and you really thing something bad is going on.this way you can do your part to keep the place as clean as possible.let the stuffs take care of the rest.
+ Envato should bring up a badge to encourage authors to keep the market clean and safe as well. dirty accounts can cause nothing but hazard. i think this can be a great solution.

Thanks a lot for the exaustive replies guys, as far as I see you view it more or less like me. I just hope the homepage will not be flooded with multiple accounts… If somebody does it, anybody can, the only worry. I hope authors will use it to just sell exclusively or not, and not to upload the same files over and over. If everybody creates 2 accounts, is like we are all doing work for free, because we will work to stay in the same condition as before. Got what I mean?
Can we have two different account one for buying and one for selling? I wanna post it in blog please answer.
