I used a word in your forum that you disapproved of… and you shut me down like you normally do to us little folk around here… with your quick kung-fu “change & lock” action, like a cop trying to get his ticket quota for the month… You are a general like no other… May I call you General Mickey? No disrespect intended… (Article 2, Section 3, Amendment 7)

I’m not sure why this word was removed… I looked in the wiki… I didn’t see it as a “No, No”... it’s like not using that nasty, nasty S word and saying “poop” instead… uh, oh… am I aloud to say “poop” in the forum?... Please clean up, I mean… censor my “poop” if it’s not aloud… I don’t want to get in trouble… (winky face, winky face… big smile )

I’m looking to one day join the Disneyland force… and so I think a meeting with the staff is needed about making sure we ( I say we, because I’m including myself in the future as a high ranking officer)... making sure we censor ourselves and lead by example… case in point:

This anonymous staffer used, in the title, the… the… (I can hardly bring myself to type it, I’d type the less naughty word, but I’ve already been ticket for that one…)... they used the A word...

RIDICULOUS !!!!!

They even used the A word with the word PEG after it…

DOUBLE RIDICULOUS !!!!!

People could find this offensive as well… We need an internal investigation started… find this staffer and escort him from the premises at the edge of the internet… there’s not enough soap in cyber land for this heathen …

In conclusion… we should really practice what we preach, starting with me at the top (again… referring to future me, when I’m running things at a high level…)... me at the top and working our way down the ladder…

So, to steer this in a more constructive path; are you guys (all community members) satisfied with ThemeForest’s forum moderation? If not; is it perhaps too tight? Maybe not tight enough? If you’d like to contribute to the discussion, do so carefully and constructively as we know the potential consequences.

I think it’s just fine, luckykind is also too funny and doesn’t mean bad, but if you don’t already know his type of humour, you might find him offensive the first time.

So maybe give him a Forum josher badge, just for recognition.

NO! I mean bad! I MEAN REAL BAD !...

Yeah that’s pretty much how my life goes… you either get me or eventually your hair falls out, you start bleeding from all orifices and the taste of human brains starts sounding tantalizing to you… Unfortunately, this type of personality doesn’t fit into the box that some of the staff like to paint as perfect community bots…

1A. There’s at least a few reasons you’re not getting much of a response or public out cry… I’ll just list them and if anybody cares for me to expand on them, I’ll do so… all you really need to do however is think about them and how they shape the community:

- Author of the Week

- Item of the Week

- Superstar Badge

- Forum UI/UX

- General M. and The P.E.A

- Zombified Sheep

Yes… the locked threads, changed words and the constant nagging to stay on topic is doing more bad for the community than good. Look at some of the best communities online and how they do it and these shenanigans of “wielding ones power” rarely go on, if ever… threads are rarely if ever locked, the communities police themselves and EVERYONE goes off topic… it’s how bonds and friendships are formed between members… where else are we to talk? I understand some topics need to “stay on topic”... but for the most part, threads here should be conversations… not always a Q&A…

Ever been to a party, your mingling from group to group… and you jump into a conversation with something that someone said and then some ARSE says, “HEY FREEZE ! Stay on topic or I’m shutting this whole party down!”...

No? neither have I… because that’s not how people converse…

I’m 33 years old (yes, that’s probably one of the older members here…) and a responsible father of four… Here, someone almost ten years my junior is treating me like a child… telling me I’m using potty mouth, changing my words and cutting off my conversations… if that sits alright with everyone, I’ll shut up… submit items… and find another community where “talking” is accepted… you can keep your idea of Disneyland…

I’ll just say, sometimes the crazy guy makes sense…

i agree, this is an adult marketplace, the fact that there might a few kids on here, they are most definitely in the minority and the forum/marketplace should cater for the majority.

As adults we know that if we read something we dont like, then we just move on or comment back and have a conversation about it (Not sure your going to convert anyone here though).

Sometimes we get offended…. we are adults, so be offended! Its not going to kill you, we are all offended at some point in life. “No one has died from being offended!”

When you sign up for an account you should be reminded that this is an adult arena and there will be some moderation but adult language is used.

This is a good point. To sign up you are required to be 18+ years old, or with the consent of an adult. Shouldn’t that mean we can speak a little freely?
