Begin rant…
Chances are you’ve seen the “Droid” commercials. With the “There’s no limit to what Droid does” slogan. Everyone here knows Droid is Google Android, but not the general public.
Google is an awesome brand. Everyone loves Google. So I don’t understand why they don’t just call it a “Google phone”. Or at the very least, “Droid by Google”. Because “Droid” is not synonymous with Google like the iPhone is with Apple.
Maybe in time it will be, but the current advertising campaign isn’t effective in my opinion. Not only does it fail to scream GOOGLE , but it doesn’t have the “advanced yet simple and easy to use” message that iPhone commercials have. Instead it’s a “tech” looking ad that would appeal more to gamers than the general public.

If I’m not mistaken, the word “Google” is on the back of all the Droid phones, but doru is right, google, doesn’t make the droid, they make the OS
