I think my wildest dreams wish would have to be “a shiny new canon 1D mark iv” although I would happily settle for a new speedlite or kit bag

Poor college student getting into graphic design and programming.
Naturally I asked for books. The Smashing Book, PHP for absolute beginners, a better Java book than I have, and pants.
Does anyone have any suggestions of quality books? I’m gearing towards being a designer and a programmer, so books in either field help.
