Hello friends.
First off let me thank you for the oppurtunity to get into the open beta. I am an upcoming designer still going to school and having access to other’s creativity is one of the best tools in the design world today.
I was curious about the rules as far as exclusive authors and their own homepages.
I know that if you become an Exclusive Author in the Envato Network your not allowed to sell your items anywhere, including your homepage, and I know that it is not allowed make items based on tutorials and then put them on your network, but my question is this…
Is it allowed to create a tutorial on your own website of an item that you may be selling here on the Envato Network?
If I were to make a tutorial on an Item that I have placed on the Envato network but not actual have the file on my website, just a link to the file here, is that allowed?
If I make a tutorial based on a file that I placed in the Envato network could I still put alternate versions of the file on my own website?
I am finishing up my website/blog @ http://www.tymayn.com and I was planning on having some of my own content to generate traffic and all that stuff, but I also want to become an exclusive member because I am sure over the years I will create plenty of goods people would be interested in.
Just want to make this clear before I do anything silly.
Thanks again, you guys are real KICKASS !

As long as you are not selling or giving away the same files elsewhere that you are selling through the marketplace, you aren’t breaking any exclusive content rules.
You can use one of your marketplace items as an example/demo in a tutorial, just don’t provide the file along with the tutorial. As long as you are the original author of both the tutorial and the work, you should be fine!
Amanda,
Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Cheers.
