I was looking at flyer designs this morning and I see a vast amount of different sizes available.
I’ve seen:- 4” x 6”
- 4” x 7”
- 8.5” x 11”
- 5” x 7”
- 5.8” x 8.2” A5
Just wondering what is the most widely used size in respects to flyers & sales. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I prefer 8.5×11. 4×6 has been used a lot recently, so you may prefer that one too

+1 to what he said. Usually it’s 8.5×11. Though I have also created a flyer which is 8.5×5.5.
Can one of you blokes please send me a blank 4×6 .pds file with the bleeds, trim and guides setup?
I just bought Photoshop CS5 yesterday and have been using fireworks all these years.
I am new to print design so I really don’t know how to setup a template for 4×6 & 8.5×11 which I probably won’t get into until I feel more comfortable in PS and with designing for print.
Thanks.

a question regarding flyers …. is it necessary for the author to print their design first and show it to reviewer for approval ??

It is not necessary at all. You should use some mock-up instead.

some time ago i tried submitting a Business card i think he rejected because its not print ready i really dont know what “print-ready” means .. i thought that the author have to take a real testing print of their item and then send it for reviewing ….
another question i have seen many business cards on GR that are made using InDesign and Illustrator but I am more comfortable using Photoshop will they reject the item because the file is in PSD ??

Read through these two articles and you will understand what is considered “Print-ready”

About the Photoshop file type, as all my business card items (up to now) are in Photoshop files, I can tell you it’s not the reason for rejection. Most buyers are familiar with Photoshop – even when the industry standard for this kind of printing is Illustrator. In some cases, when you provide the Illustrator / InDesign, the buyer even asks you if they can have the Photoshop version.
thanks a lot …. will keep these points in mind …
