I’ll believe that if you show me numbers. Seriously, maybe you are right, I don’t know, but I need numbers to know you’re right.

there is no reason to show some numbers or track stats…it is simply the fact that is not a common practice to provide a file for free that is at acceptable quality as some files that are listed for sale. In other words…the whole “free file of the month” thing may attract some visitors to the marketplaces (good for you), but same time kills the sales potential of other files for a complete month (bad for authors who have similar files listed for sale). And not only this..thos “free files of the month” get downloaded by “freebies bloggers” who put them on their own blogs for sharing…this means that file doesnt dissapear on web, but opposite…it gets more popular and shared more-and-more often. Now dont tell me to explain this…use your brain and try to figure out what to translates all this “free file of the month” here on envato.

That’s an assumption of how the mechanism plays out. The file is offline after a month anyway. The numbers will show if the ‘ffof’ has any noticable effect on sales or not. Banks assumed a whole lot as well before the economy crashed, turns out some people were wrong.
To follow up on your point of view, if you are concerned about freebies limiting the market then you should know that there are more freebie photoshop resources and patterns out there than just the ffof.
