Is it because of your Photoshop version? So it will work only Ultimate edition of Photoshop cs5. Or how a mock up magazine do you want? Or do you want a 3d mock up like this ?

I would suspect that showing what your magazine looks like after it’s been drenched in rain is not so appealing to a client or prospective readership.
Maybe I’m missing the point here?
