We should take some steps to prevent them.. Please use Envato analytics to get where your file and other graphicriver file are giving free. send them to support to take appropriate action. It will help us to prevent them. We all should come forward to help each other.

And yes, when you see your files in a pirate sites then obviously there are more files of others. Report them too.

Thanks

Support does nothing!

They just tell you to send a DMCA by yourself and that’s about it.

I think this is wrong. I’m selling my items here and I think Envato should take care of the authors instead of leting you fight for your own.

Also, when I see an item with a single sale published for free on a warez site, this means we know for sure who the Envato member is, and should be blocked!

But like I said, support does nothing. That’s a shame.

Sorry! Envato assures me that they will delve into the matter and do their best.

Only the copyright owner or someone specifically authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner may submit a DMCA notice under the DMCA .

Who holds the copyright of the item created by the authors on Envato? The authors. Would they be willing to transfer their copyrights to Envato? No because then they will have no control over managing the file. Also Envato will never represent you i.e. all the authors, because Envato does not know for itself as to which party is certainly infringing whose rights(Though this mainly applies to the cases where authors infringe on the copyrights of other designers by copying their designs and selling them here).

Thus, Envato cannot send DMCA on your behalf.

Also, when I see an item with a single sale published for free on a warez site, this means we know for sure who the Envato member is, and should be blocked!

Although, I do not know how Envato handles this but in AT LEAST some legal systems, there would be two persons who might have distributed the item for free. The author and the buyer. Now it doesn’t make sense why the author would do that but, “Law doesn’t have to be logical!” You need to prove it with evidence that the buyer uploaded your file to piracy sites. As lame as it may sound, but that’s how this whole thing works.

Please contact Support with this rather than post in on the forums. Support does everything it can to squash file sharing, although as Raincutter mentioned, the author is required to initiate the DMCA as the copyright holder.

Locking the thread down due to the forum rules on piracy discussions. Thanks!
