Perhaps it was http://logomyway.com/ that you are looking for.

I believe this is called crowd-sourcing. Designers aren’t too excited about this kind of project because it’s spec work (i.e. we do the work for nothing in the hope of getting paid).

Sitepoint used to have a marketplace for this which is one of the more respected ones, it rebranded about a year ago to:

http://99designs.com/

Is that it? There are quite a few of these types of sites though, so it could really be any of them.

Thanks, actually this was not them but with the them “crowd-sourcing” i think i’ll be able to find it.

well, by searching for those keywords in google, the first two sites you’d get are crowdspring.com and 99designs.com, which work just in the way you specified.
