Hello, I purchased and downloaded the magazine layout called “Professional Design Magazine Template” from graphicriver. I have InDesign CS5 and was able to see it as shown in the website sample. Now when going to open it a second time and thereafter, there are no images or background images. Just text and image place holders. I did not change or save it as something else, so what happened? I even downloaded it again and it looks the same way. How could it open the first time only. I downloaded 2 other layouts from graphicriver and they work fine. HELP …IMMEDIATELY…PLEASE!

Images are pretty much never included, templates would cost alot more if the were. I am sure if you read the description of the item it will say images not included.
You can message the auther and ask where the images are from but it may cost some money to get the rights to use them.

Hi Neoracle,
the images won’t have ‘vanished’, they’ll have been removed from the file before it was uploaded for sale.
As Darkstar pointed out, most items do not include the photos and they’re simply inserted for preview purposes.
This is because in order to be sold within the item you’ve purchased, the photos would need to be correctly licensed – which is rather extended to purchase resale rights.
When purchasing items you will see that most authors state on either their preview images or item descriptions that the images you see in the preview are not actually included in the final and purchasable file.

Thank you DarkstarDesigns and quickandeasy.
Your replies made me see that out of the 3 templates I downloaded, this particular “problem” template I was addressing is actually not a problem at all. It just happened to be so photo-heavy in its setup / preview that I panicked when it was downloaded and looked so drastically different. I see now that the layout is the way it should be.
I’m new to this creative area.
Thanks again for your responses.
