@ivor I believe some of the things you’ve listed under unacceptable are no longer required with HTML5 validation. For example, if you have an HTML5 doctype, and you run through the W3C validation, (for example) an image doesn’t need an alt tag, things like that. Am I wrong?

- Typos in tags
- Tags not closed
- Improperly nesting tags
- Capitalizing tags
- Not encoding special characters (& timthumb for example)
- Missing alt tag in images
- Head content must be within the head
- Improper use of form tags

also i think css3 & html5 is available.. example : -moz, -webkit or text-shadow

You can use HTML5 and CSS3 as much as you like but provide fallbacks if possible. For instance, I’m using a lot of RGBa in my next theme but I’ll provide a nice fallback with png’s for older browsers.

That’s ok but use your common sense on this, the alt attribute is important.
