LOGO - Improvements needed

Does anyone know if there is any explanation or guide how to choose best fonts for the logo, since I received several many mails with this reason when my work was rejected? This time I got soft rejection mail for the logo below and I would like to hear other authors’ opinion about changing fonts, and what could I do to refine the shape, which was also a suggestion for making improvement.

Gradien’ts are nice, but i think the top 2 pieces, you should look at the corner(edges)...try to fix them a bit up. Pick another font, also the element is too big compared to the text, perhaps reduce the size, mix it up a little bit, and see how it looks.
