It’s more useful than the old one, BUT it just dropped the bomb on Twitter background designs 
Now most people will need to adjust to the new specs… more work for Twitter bg designers 
Myself I only use twitter.com to check out the branding of that person’s page, and use Hootsuite for tweeting&stuff… So I have to say NOT !

I am simply attracted by the in-line media attachments in this (eg including YouTube videos in the second pane) and also being able to click on a tweet and view all replies to it.
