One of those rejection threads...

I got rejected… she walked away without telling me why and took my heart with her…

Now I’m all alone… with nothing but this landing page I made for her that she left behind… I’m miserable… I think she thinks it’s ugly… I think she’s wrong… I think if she saw the beauty within me and it… she’d think again and take us back… and we’d be in love… and do wonderful things together…

Help me make her see our beauty… or call a doctor, and have them send me to the loony bin…

Well, I actually kind of suck at this but I am willing to take a stab at it….

First of all, what category were you submitting this for? and is the main purpose of the site? I am guessing this is to sell a product? or by reading the footer i am guessing this is an email template?

I think one of the things people should start doing on these rejection threads is maybe say “hey I made template for X category (unless that’s determined by the TF staff) and it got rejected”. I think they would better help get the right kind of feedback.

I love the header and the background on the top, I think that looks pretty good.

Here is a few things off of the top of my head I would maybe do different:

• The area under the header on the left hand side could use some work, it just seems unfinished
• The anchor text seems kinda of bland as well, I am not liking the blue with all the pink and red. Maybe trying using a green for the links?
• The call to action button on the bottom seems out of place as well

The Category would be filed under Specialty Pages… as it’s a landing page, yes for a product or whatever someone would want to advertise on Valentine’s Day…

It did start out as an e-mail template, but I scratched that and turned it into a landing page instead… thanks for the catch on the footer… it’s fixed now…

I guess my question more should be… If you needed a landing page for your product/service on Valentine’s Day, would this be something you might be interested in using? I mean you could easily change the link color and put the call to action button to your preferences… I can’t imagine that’s why I got rejected. The left section under the header is for someone to put their own products or services… I can’t guess what they are going to use it for, I can only give examples… however the structure is there for them to use…

I didn’t get a soft reject… I got the full blown, “Unfortunately, due to our high standards, your template has been declined.” response…

...and since I believe the structure and design is there for customers to work with… I can’t see it as not being at least of the same high standards as others in the marketplace… but maybe I’m taking crazy pills…

I just need to hear it from enough people that I must be on crazy pills…

I did upload it… It got rejected… apparently the entire review team reviewed it and said the standards weren’t high enough…

...and apparently, I (and now you) are missing the boat on that…

“I’ve asked the rest of the review team to review your submission so we could come to a team decision. Unfortunately, due to our high standards, your template has been declined. The template doesn’t offer the value necessary to perform well in the marketplace.”

... and that it why I’m dumbfounded and that has lead me to this thread.

That i really dont understand…........what high standards?..........i find that lately a lot of poor designed items are flooding this marketplace, if it’s got a cuber inside it will be approved.

If you ask me, this is a good design, beter then most of the theme’s here.(sorry guy’s)

I don’t see it as a really that bad to be rejected.

However, there is one thing I find ‘annoying’ (but that’s maybe just me ):

red and pink don’t go well with each other.

I got this rejection 2 times with the same text Reviewer should always give a detailed answer…
