Hey everyone, today I am wondering. Is deviantart worth the time and effort? I am starting to join groups, watch others, and ultimately share my work. Do you think this could lead to sales, and or more views. Has deviant art worked for you? Does it help you get more views and comments? If so please let me know. I am just exploring another free way to possibly share my work and get some more purchases ;) Any tips for DA are appreciated!

Thanks guys!

If you don’t already have a circle of contacts who will share your work exponentially, then ANY share site is worth it – although i can’t see much difference from my own new DA site. I aspire to join the more professional places when i grow up.

DA is a very good community. Not as mature as conceptart.org but it has its benefits. Getting followers is easy. I have been inactive for about 2 years because I moved to a place with no constant net but my handle there is magaly :D. Using groups is a big boost and writing journals is also a good way of getting potential fans. Though because DA generally caters to enthusiasts and younger age groups, it isn’t the ideal place to network for potential clients or to gain tips from pro’s.

You need to have much patience and dedicate yourself to it. Just surf the community, enjoy commenting and discovering people similar to you. Everything will automatically works fine :) Remember to place your ref code in the links, to achieve an extra income ;)

Can’t really say! coz there is no sure shot way of actually knowing if the sales came from DA. But, yes, I like throwing my work to as many communities as possible.
