OK guys. I have some questions here. I have received answer from a reviewer that the design has to be customizable to be accepted in the T-Shirt categort. So if I’m trying to create a Typography graphic vector (which, you know, it’s not customizable) and bring it on to make a T-Shirt template then it would never be accepted right? And for some other kind of T-Shirt graphics which are hardly customizable, like a themed graphic design (only come as-is), would never be accepted? Am I right? However, put my feet in buyer’s shoes, I still think they will buy the graphic not only to customize it, but to print it directly, too. Why not?

I cannot find any related document and guidelines about this issue from Envato, so I have opened a ticket in Envato Support. But as usual, the Support would always take nearly a week to reach me. So I post the issue here, hoping there would be an answer.

Thanks, and best luck of sales today, authors!

Here is the thing, i guess: Typography in the file should stay in editable eg. do not rasterize or make it outline. Regarding the Vector elements i would not merge them just leave it on layers, possibly group them but thats all. Thats how i think… anyone else? Im also curious…

Thanks for your reply, dekurvajo. Have a nice day :)

With the Typography things, I think we designers both understand that to create a typography it needs more than just usual fonts. We need to add more elements, effects, special alignment etc., to make it base on our idea. So I think it kinda hard to keep it straightly editable that way. In case it’s editable as a premade font, then in the other way the item would be judged as too simple (only a text!). So actually I’m stuck here.

With the Vector things, that’s what I did – leave them in organized group of layers, as-is. But it had not been passed by.

So I think that the authors really need a clear guideline here in this T-Shirt section to clarify all things. It would be a waste of time and effort for the author, if the author and the marketplace’s reviewers do not share the same point of view while there is no official rules or guidelines!!

OK. Just can wait for a moderator or someone from Staff to show me where it is the OFFICIAL GUIDELINES of the T-Shirt category. My item has been rejected over times due to not serving the guidelines, while the last approved item is not so much different, only the DIFFERENT REVIEWER . I think that the REVIEWER are MISUNDERSTANDING something here and lead to continuous rejection of my items. I cannot wait for the super SLOW support system (and un-user-friendly, comparing to the past, believe me) to reach me.

Anyone, please?

@loungekat: I cannot seem to reach you via Support system, so if you can see this thread please make a reply. Thank.

Sorry for any inconvenience but I’m really in a bad mood.

“I think we designers both understand that to create a typography it needs more than just usual fonts.” – Yes, i totally agreed with you. Thats why for example i can not work here for the logo section. Every time i tried i always felt that No… its no way to create a logo for me if i can not touch the typography. To be honest if for me if i just leave it as a font, thats not typoGRAPHY just typo, letters, words. Yes i 100% agree with you, i know what are you talking man ;)

Thanks bro, you got my idea. I appreciate that :) .

Now I just need to clarify things up: Would the T-Shirt category made only for customizable T-Shirt designs for business and organization, but not for personal usage?. And what is considered “customizable” ? In case of a vector graphic design that come “as-is” (like a typography design or themed design), even if suitable for T-Shirt printing, would it be straightly rejected?

If there’s no official guidelines then are all of the reviewer’s decisions based only on their personal feelings? “I like this so I approve it. I don’t like this so I don’t let it pass” ? .

Anyone from staff, please?

Thanks.

gbs, i know you are waiting for the answer from the Staff, but until just let me to explain how i see this market. First of all you have to understand who are the buyers i mean the potential traget group here. Im pretty sure the Envato exactly knows this very well. You can be 100% sure they have serious background research regarding this and they spend not a small amount to have those results. You can be sure we will never see that charts but no worries because we authors, actually you and me as well already part of it those cute bars, dots, cakes and curves.
The only thing what i can do is guess. I see how Envato try to manage the market and im pretty sure they do this in a parity of those market research. If you use to work before in a big advertising agency im pretty sure you remember those dry parts in the brief. Same thing mate. And i can tell you that, probably what you try to push trough here its too much for those buyers. Which means your art is not just not good enough, but too unique. You know what i mean? Those T-Shirts over there are templates. They need editable and adjustable things just like everything here. Who buy this things here they have no $ 100-300-500 to hire a designer to make their own unique staff. But also, they dont have enough experience or time or patient or knowledge to start with an empty document. Probably they do, but then they realize its not that easy, so they have to find a “solution”. But this is just 1 possibility there could be a lot of different situation as well. But as you can see, they will always want to have they own part in the work. So thats why Envato asking editable items. I know mate this is not easy to accept, very hard to find that thin line… but what you can do?

Yeah… Thank you for your reply as well as your interest in my topic. Maybe it’s true and we have to come to an acceptance that this is a marketplace and we sell what customers like… OK, now I’m through on this. Until now, no support from Staff has reached me yet. However, to be able to share the same point of view with another author is still a memorable experience.

Have a nice day and best wish of sales to you my friend :)

Hi everyone,

The t-shirt category is for templates, a bit like the logo templates. So the emphasis is put on designs that can be used by different clubs or groups for events, uniforms and promotional items.

We’re looking for t-shirts that can be made into something unique by the person who purchases it. Text is a good way to do this (you will need to document the font used and provide an editable version of your design in EPS )

The final output is intended for screen print, so it needs to be one color per layer, remembering that its more expensive to print lots of colors (4 colors max is ideal) A help file showing people how to change the colors is good.

We hope to have some more comprehensive guidelines on this category soon, in the meantime if you have any further questions let me know :)
