I have yet another question (the nth for today
), this time regarding the updating process of your work..
Let’s say I write some code, publish it to Envato, and after a week or so I realize that it needs some aditions.. after adding all the necessary stuff to it, what do I do ? I’ll probably upload the new code, but will I go through the reviewing process all over again ?

Yep when you update a file it will go into the review process again but it will go into the update queue and not the normal queue then the reviewer will check the updated files

You have to do through the EDIT label in your file page. You don’t need to upload everything again, just the files that you changed. If you have doubts, contact support previously uploading the files, because you’ll wait the queue even if your file can’t be approved.
so it’s possible to get rejected after you upload the changes ? this sounds really really weird.. and assuming that the reviewer will reject the changes, will the original work still be on the marketplace ? or will they delete it ?

Original work will be here. You can get rejected, yes. Often changes are rejected because the user forgot to upload a new file or something of that manner. We usually don’t go, “oh your previous version was really good but this one is balls, goodbye!” unless you intentionally swapped it with something of low quality.
Awesome! Feeling better now
Thank you very much!

Taking advantage of this opened thread : once you update a file, and the update contains important improvements, let say 50% of the content is new, will it show up on the front page again? I mean it feels like stealing to just put up 5 files with 1 button, instead of just updating another with more versions… but it’s not really worth updating if you get no front-page updating (unless of course you noticed something wrong with your file, and it’s affecting your clients and sales) I’m asking this after my file got bumped off the front page in a mere 2 hours, right after I made my first sale… and instead of just having more files with 1 sale, I was hoping I could update with this file into an even greater collection and at least bump up the sales on it and have some more exposure on it.
Best regards, Contrastblack.

No, updated files won’t show up on the frontpage again
(and rightly so as otherwise people would just make fake updates just to get on the frontpage again)

Since updates are being reviewed by the same reviewers, and can get accepted or rejected all the same, I doubt “fake updates” would be a tough thing to spot and throw in the “rejected items” bin. Really…

There are what, at least 5 reviewers on GR so its not guaranteed you will get the same reviewer. And you can hardly expect them to go remembering every file just because some authors seem to depend on frontpage exposure to get sales. It would be a huge waste of time for both people to have a “rejected bin”
And how annoying would it be to have the same old files being on the frontpage? Its already happened here before when some people realized you could delete a file then re-submit it from the hidden files
There was a topic on this before.
