I’m here to do a simple and good job but… I’m really frustrated about the copy of some mates about my style, text redaction, ideas and marketing stuff…

I mean… can’t they do your own ideas? if they want to find inspiration it’s ok …but the copy in the same marketplace is easy to detect, so I’m thinking this is poor and selfish people…

Unfortunately this is not a case to report abuse to the envato stuff… but if this continue I’m to be obligated to show names and evidence here.

I’m sure about I’m not the only one… so, if somebody have a similar bad experience can share your case to help us each other

Thanks!

I think you are referring to me. If it bothers you I can change the preview because perhaps I have inadvertently created a preview like your style, but the result is always the same. Mine is simply a set of styles that are also very different from yours. I had seen many similar packages from many authors and I thought that there was no problem to create something with this style. I’m not here to create inconvenience to anyone. I repeat, if you want, i can simply change the preview, but the gist remains the same.

Peace & Love.

You are not alone when you talk about someone copies someone’s else work. Too much inspired works or sometimes identical works are not difficult to find here. I can only say they just want to follow the successful item in uncreative way.

This is true. Sometimes people just wants to follow the trend that’s selling and end up with a work very similar to another author. But we also got to keep in mind that actually there’s already lot’s of designs in GR. Eventually we will have similarities and I don’t believe that an author checks every single file in the marketplace to see if it’s similar. I don’t

I’m new to GR and I love creating flyers, of course that prior to submitting my first file, I’ve looked around to see how others were promoting their items and what they were using as placeholders… That’s a natural process. Regarding promotion, it takes some time to a new author develop he’s own style.

That’s not valid for the item itself though.

+1 100% agree with that. If you’re a designer, practice is what will make you stand out of the crowd. But MANY people tend to ignore that. And I’d correct that as well. Too much identical works or sometimes inspired works are not difficult to find here. :D But because many of those people come here just to earn some money, and are not really interested in actual work, what else can you expect from them? Might seem harsh words from my side but it’s only pointed to those who do it. They surely know who they are.

Spot on the mark. I’d just like to say that all authors are here to make money otherwise they would be posting all their work on other sites as free downloads. Button styles have been killed but they are still accepted as are grunge styles. Money is money and that, I think is what motivates most authors if not all. I would not knowingly produce work which would be too similar to one which is already posted but if it ever happened then a private message to me pointing it out would have me making changes or deleting it altogether. So to me Era89 has done the right thing by going public and offering to change things.

Iv had my style copied too, even how I name my files and spell “it” like “iT” has been copied. At first I was angry then I realised I must be doing something right, I guess we all have are influences and the people who come here and copy ain’t going to make much because to make money in this game you need to be focused and original.

Agree with XP 1 … Era89 did great by coming out like that! When I finished one of my designs I noticed that it had the same design structure of another one here on GR. So I sent a PM to the author, showed him my item and asked him if he would consider it a copy. If so, I wouldn’t upload it. He said that it was ok. That he didn’t consider it a copy.

It seems to me that copying someone style, even if it’s only for them money, is the dumbest thing that one can do here. I believe that having an unique style is what really makes you stand out on the crowd. You might not get as many sales as “X” or “Y” at first, but you’ll surely call attention and begin to create a clientele somehow. People crave for new stuff.

Take a look and see how many Glass like PS styles exist out there. At least a dozen, being that one of them is a real top seller. If I decided to follows this trend, I would be just another one. Instead, I checked around to see what was not there yet.

100000 kudos at Era89 who admit he got inspiration from Elicabe’s presentation, I’d be proud of that Elicabe :D this means your works are outstanding (they are) and they inspired a guy in the other side of the World!

BTW me too I noticed that Era89 got inspiration from you but IMHO only the presentation has a similar structure and the intent was not to plain copy, even if the idea is not that much original.

I think Era89 will soon find his very own way to work and create designs, since he will understand that original works always sell more :)

Totally agree with Giallo! Also I could list many items with that type of structure, and for this reason that I thought there was no problem to use that kind of setting! From now on, I will change the structure of my previews so we will not have these problems. I am very sorry to have caused the discomfort :(, but as I said, I did not with the intention to copy your design.
