Does anyone know of a way we can send a file to someones iPhone , they could be anywhere in the world.

To add another level of complexity, we would need to do this ( paid or free ) for the user, from a website. So click to send this to your iPhone.

Any suggestions would be greatttt.

The file would be AAC

( we will concentrate on other devices once we get this nailed ) we dont want to go via iTunes

If the iphone has the internet could the iphone user not just browse said file on the website?

Or did you want it like an advanced text messaging service?

BTW what happened to your avatar? This one is a bit girly ;)

I guess this is a dev thing. I’ve done audio for about 10 games for iOS. The easist thing I’ve found to listen was to e-mail it and open it in my iPhone. A horrible solution. Looking forward to hearing how people solve this.

As DarkNurbs said: a sharing service like Dropbox or SkyDrive would do the trick… Personally I use SkyDrive to share files with my clients :)

wtf has dropbox skydive or the like got to do with the mechanism ?

Absolutely nothing, and Darknurbs posting your referral link in a thread, is bullshit. Start your own thread and post your referral links in there.

Guys the question isnt how to share, and storage options but the mechanism to port file to device.

I use a phone based on Android, and I always use DropBox for things like that, I upload it to do my folder and download it on the phone, if you are using an iPhone then I suppose you can try with iCloud. And what about the e-mail? You can send it via e-mail and download it from the phone, can’t you?

It’s relevant, since it solves your problem (as Stylius mentioned): you can upload a file to your dropbox from your computer and then download it on your phone using the Dropbox app. In fact, that’s how I share files with my phone (besides SSH ) ;)
