Sort by Sales Rate

Sorting by sales isn’t necessarily a good way to see what is hot. It generally shows you what is old and has sold well over the long time it has been around. What is more interesting is to see what has been selling quickly. Basically a combination of sorting by sales and sorting by date. I think Envato should come up with a rating system something like Interestingness on Flickr and factor this into account.

And also allow sellers to recommend other peoples items even if they haven’t bought them, like I have mentioned before. Factor that into the “interestingness” too.

Don’t forget you can see the top selling files for the week in Weekly Top Sellers and you can also see the Top New Authors too

I love this idea, I am always interested in what is hot on a sales by day basis! I know they have weekly stats, but if there were other options that would be cool too Good idea!

Yeah I know they have the Popular Files category but I am talking about something to consider as a sorting option. Popular Files shows all file types mixed together, but it would be nice to have this feature for any category you are browsing. Popular Files is also limited to recent times. Some files could have a high sales rate over all but just not recently.

Yes , I think Marketplace needs an advanced search with optional keywords and sort combinations. It helps a lot buyers and makes authors visiable even if their items are old. Also helps the users to narrow down and find the best item.
