I was thinking of starting to develop Thematic Child Themes for the Thematic Framework and selling them here… is that possible and if so has anybody else done any? I took a look around but couldn’t find any.

You can definitely do that since Thematic is GPL … however, you would have to package Thematic and the child theme so they are one combined theme. I would very much like to see ThemeForest create a Thematic Child Theme category.

ON: I don’t think the rules here allow selling a theme together with any (even GPL ) plugin / other people’s work…
But hey, how hard can it be for a buyer to simply download the framework and follow your instructions?

ON: I don’t think the rules here allow selling a theme together with any (even GPL ) plugin / other people’s work…Why not? If it’s GPL , it’s GPL . jQuery is “other people’s work” too in that sense =P

@digitalimpact, Yep that’s me. Thanks for admiring my work. Yeah, if it is GPL , you can use it in your theme. jQuery is the perfect example, Thematic is also a great example. You can resell and redistribute GPL -licensed code ‘til the cows come home.
