Just bought my first 27” i5 iMac and now thinking about good UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Can anyone suggest a good one within 200$? Or does it need something more expensive / more powerful?

I think most U.S. citizens would instantly think ‘United Parcel Service’. At least that’s what I thought when I read it.

Same. UPS is a global company though. Had to Google what he meant.
But on topic, I’m not quite sure of the thing you’re looking for. I don’t see why you would need one unless your power constantly goes out during the day but good luck on your search.

I have this one – http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=be400-gr – it’s very useful indeed and I highly recommend if you need to protect expensive equipment. It saved me quite a few times from power surges and allowed me time to save my work; never tested how much the battery lasts but I think it’s more then enough.

I’m pretty sure anyone who doesn’t know what a UPS is also won’t be able to offer any helpful advice….
APC is highly recommended all over the net and a size from 1000va to 1500va would be ample.
