Will Graphic river be striving for more quality vector images in the future? so far I have seen quite a few vector images that have passed inspection that in my view are a little iffy the content is solid but the line work is really rough.
If contributors spend just a little more time on creating a smooth quality vector illustration before they go to submit it to be inspected they will see a much better return in sales. I have always said that it is better worth your time to make 1 quality vector illustration than to make 500 quick and simple rough vector illustrations.
It is always worth it to take your time and produce great solid vector illustrations for people to purchase
hope this helps contributors out a little

Thanks for the feedback for designers here.
My one submission (a cow haha) is pretty simple- but I have yet to filter through my archives for work I was waiting to upload here.
I never really created my works with the mindset that they were going to be used by other people- so I think if your in the same boat, try to take 30 minutes to clean up the paths and make things more cleaner for the buyer.
Vector is not my speciality, so I only review vector files when I am sure it’s good enough to let it pass. What I can tell you though is that it’s harder to determine quality on the vector images then it is on the raster images, not just for me, but other reviewers have the same issue at times. There’s just a lot of ‘borderline’ content coming in. Generally we are pretty strict with vectors, especially when it comes to layering. If you stack elements on top of eachother make sure you use multiple layers so that the buyers won’t have issues with selection!
I just got my one of my illustrations rejected because I overlooked the fact that my layers weren’t separated. Arikb was it you? heheh.
But yes I agree, it’s beneficial for the user when the layers are seperated.

Probably wasn’t, I haven’t reviewed vector files for a while. And I haven’t reviewed anything that resembles your style
But do seperate your layers. Imagine a situation like this:
A submission is made up of a face on top of a glossy heart on top of a glossy star. Each element, including gloss and shadows, is seperate. Now when you upload something like that you assume the buyer will use the entire graphic, but what if the buyer decides that he just wants to use the glossy heart? Selecting at this point can become tedious.
Yup, I totally agree with you. Especially with complex images. Will remember to that the next time I churn out another vector

I did a bunch of yours, Sugar. So the evil rejection monster was probably me.
It’s tough, but I’m sure we’ve all been there trying to select /one/ weenie little element in the midst of a bunch of lines.
You’re not alone, the major amount of file rejections right now are mostly great pieces of artwork that either have layering/labeling issues or wrong file format. It’s to be expected in beta while people get familiar with the guidelines.

haha! yeah sometimes I get frustrated myself when I’m searching for that one teensy weensy element. Graphic river is still in beta but it sure looks promising, so imna get cosy up in here and upload a coupla more soon!
Sugar, are you making these on the go? You produce some great quality stuff!
Most Of I’ve seen are great quality, some seem a bit rough maybe because of the Envato logo water mark, like on this one: http://graphicriver.net/item/ying-yang/28857
