What is a featured file ?

Can somebody tell me what is a featured file ? and what happens when I get a featured file? and how to get a featured file?

Hi Anchor Point, a featured file is an item, carefully chosen by Envato Staff, to appear on the front page:

If/when one of your items is chosen, it will be showcased, for at least 4 weeks, as shown above, and your item page will receive the following banner:

You will also receive a shiny new badge, next to/below your avatar:

Regarding how to get a featured file, I personally don’t know the exact criteria. This has been discussed many times on the forums, and the only effective answer we can all agree on, is that the file has to be of amazing quality.

So focus on constantly creating top-notch files, and sooner or later you will be awarded. Great files do not go unnoticed forever, so just be patient and work hard. Cheers.

There is an option called “feature item” in my dash board and under that it has a combo box to select my items.. what is that for ?

It is a file from your portfolio that appears on your profile page as quickandeasy very well showed.
