It would be cool if customers could receive a unique serial number when buying a certain item. Customers can then enter this serial number when activating the Wordpress plugin or php script. The script can then contact the codecanyon servers to check if it’s a valid serial number to avoid piracy. The developer would have to code this into his/her plugin, I’m not expecting the reviewers to do that ;) This should be an optional feature for developers because not everyone wants this. Oh, and I’d like more sales! ;)

I guess the only issue with this is someone who is slightly savvy with coding could simply just have a look at the code and remove the request for a serial number. The only way around this would be by making an encrypted plugin which I believe goes against the terms and conditions of codecanyon.

Great idea though. I definitely support something like this.

I would like to browse people by bagdes. So that you can look how had a free file of the month etc.

And something that not directly has to do with codecanyon but I think would be very cool: If you could see where the envato elit authors are on their way to the 10.000.000$. With a little tooltip within there avatar and a link to their profil. (I hope you understand what I mean)

If you update an item, it shouldn’t have to be reviewed again. Integrated analytics onto our dashboard would be great. The script can then contact the codecanyon servers…

Then my antivirus software can complain, like is already happening with some items. Not to mention, one more link in the’ slow down’ chain.

My biggest gripe with Envato is the inability to see when a file has been updated. Making this possible would also lessen the number of support requests to authors, as new versions will often deal with known problems.

Search-able comments.

Take this for example: http://codecanyon.net/item/ubillboard-premium-slider-for-wordpress/discussion/124783?page=29

A prospective or current buyer should not have to wade through 600 plus comments to see if there question has already been answered.

Nothing annoys me more than an author telling the disgruntled buyer;

“That was answered in comment 7 on page 14 (of 31)!”

Useful information is being buried alive.

I know it was mentioned many times before but the rating system should be improved as soon as possible. Lately I got several 1 star ratings from new members that wanted to rate 5 stars, and it’s extremely frustrating. The support was contacted but they won’t do anything to fix these user mistakes, although I really don’t see why that’s impossible and, in my opinion, it would be kind of a moral duty to help authors and minimize the damage created by the current rating system.

At least you could write some instructions for the users and/or make an alert box that will warn them about the rating that they’re about to give. Would this be so complicated? (we are developers ourselves)

Thank you.

Maybe I can not see it, but there is not a function to allow editing the FAQ entries of each item. I think it would be useful.

Assuming you’re the item’s author, there is FAQs tab next to the Item Details tab. I’ve never used it, but I’m pretty sure that’s where you can edit the FAQ entries.

I think what vim means is that you can create FAQ items, but you can’t edit them afterwards. So you have to delete and recreate them, and that’s inefficient.

Unfortunately, you can’t edit/update the FAQ entries, the only option is to delete it and add a new one. From my experience, it seems that very few users read them.
