I’m updating my latest theme to support WP 3 .0 Custom Post Types. It’s all working, however there is a problem when people upgrade:
All their previous posts will be obsolete and they will have to re-post using the new Custom Post Type that I made.
Looks like it’ll have to be a new version with no real “upgrade” unless they want to do a lot of re-posting.
Didn’t even think of that
- Author had a File in an Envato Bundle
- Author was Featured
- Bought between 50 and 99 items
- Exclusive Author
- Has been a member for 4-5 years
- Item was Featured
- Referred between 500 and 999 users
- Sold between 250 000 and 1 000 000 dollars
You may want to just make sure current theme is compatible with WP 3 and won’t break or anything. And then also create your new, fancier version with custom post types, and just include both versions in the download.
I know both of the Wordpress themes I had for sale just worked with WP 3 without me having to do anything at all.
Good idea. I know it doesn’t break in 3.0, so that’s good. I’ll include both versions in the next update. Thanks!
