excuse my ignorance, can I have a PSD ? I tried opening the eps in photoshop but I can’t work with layers, etc. thus I can’t remove the shadow.

This file was created on Adobe Illustrator and you need to have illustrator to edit vector EPS files or it’s layers.
Unfortunately, I haven’t got a PSD because this is a vector EPS , and not a photoshop EPS . It can not be edited in photoshop. There is the info on the file page where it states that this is a vector EPS .
If you don’t have illustrator please download inkscape here: http://www.inkscape.org/ It is a free vector editing software. But you still won’t be able to edit the EPS file you have. For that you will need an SVG file which I can send you as it is a vector format as well.
After you download inkscape from that link, please contact me using the contact form on my profile page and I will send you the SVG file for this image.
