how do you get the shadow portion a different color than the top and the outline a different color than either?

Hi Tashamtu, I am glad you like the font!
To get color into the preview picture, i simply used the Fill tool, because it was quite large text, so depending on how much text you have, this is the easiest way.
If you have Photoshop, then another way is to type out your text in white on a black background and rasterize. Layer 1 Copy the layer, layer 2, and delete the surrounding black and the white text lines. You are left with the side and front shapes of the letters. Select and Cut the front faces of the text into 3rd layer. From here you can fill the sides and fronts differently by filling the black shapes. Lastly set the color layers behind Layer 1. Delete all the black leaving the line white (or change to what you want) and the color can be seen showing through.
You can also make texture the sides or front faces of the letters by using this method.
