I REALLY dig these backgrounds. The .psd file provides an enormous amount of flexibility.

Can anyone direct me to a good tutorial on how to turn these into tiled backgrounds?

Most of the patterns are tiled already. You just need to select the pattern you want from your layers palette > fx > pattern overlay.
