Hi – I’ve run this action on a background layer starting on the “area” layer which has my selected area colored in, all the lights are the same color and only multicolor lights are selected. I’ve rerun the action several times and cannot generate the multicolor lights.

Hello! If I understood your message correcly after finishing, the image has only one color of christmas lights, right?

The reason of this problem is that the patterns file isn’t loaded. Please make this step again: https://youtu.be/2u6RntnbK1E?t=211

And after that please play the action again.

Thanks!

How do I remove the darkness that has been added to my background image? Cheers

I figured it out thanks

Thanks for update! :)

Is it possible to have my lights 3 different colours – eg. yellow, green and red? Or similar? Thanks

Hello! The result must be with 3 different colors. If is not, the reason of the problem is that the patterns file isn’t loaded. Please make this step again: https://youtu.be/2u6RntnbK1E?t=211

And after that please play the action again.

Also you can watch this part of a video tutorial to see how to customize a colors of lights: https://youtu.be/2u6RntnbK1E?t=1074

Thanks!

Thank you for this awesome action! It was used flawlessly for one of my photos last week, but now it will not complete on any of my photos. It says “Warning: No Pixels are Selected”. I have installed the brushes, patterns, and obviously the action. I confirmed that the photo is flattened with “Background” locked, and the “area” layer selected. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling them. Any advice? I am running Photoshop CC 19.0 release on a Mac.

Hello!

1.Please make sure that you paint the area with Christmas lights only on “area 2” layer.

2. Make sure that you use a photo with good quality.

3. Before painting the area, please make sure that Opacity and Flow values of Brush Tool is 100% and that the Normal mode is selected.

4.Try to delete Christmas Lights action and than to load the action again.

5. Try to load a patterns file again using Presets Manager.

If these recommendations will not help you, please send me a fullscreen screenshot with your first error? Please note that I need to see a full workspace of your Photoshop in the moment when the error shows. My e-mail: eugenedesign19@gmail.com

Thanks!

Thank you! It was the Flow value of the brush tool! Sent it back to 100 and worked like a charm! Thank you again, this is a great action!

Thank you :)

How do I brush the effect off the face of my subject? which layer to I adjust?

Hello! You can see how to adjust a result in this part of a video tutorial: https://youtu.be/2u6RntnbK1E?t=533

Actually you can erase any elements of the effect. Just select one of the main folders and go to: Layer->Layer Mask->Reveal All. After creating a mask, please select a brush tool with black color and than just paint where you want to erase the effect.

Thanks!

Hello, I am applying this effect to a few buildings, however, the lights appear way to big on the building and they don’t look realistic. I love everything else about the effect! Just would like to get the lights to be a bit smaller to fit the scale of the building. Thanks

Hello!

To make the size of lights smaller you need just to increase the resolution of your photo. For example you have a 3000px wide image. Open your image and go to: Image->Image Size and change width value to 5000px. After that please play the action again.

Thanks!
