Add notes directly to Photoshop’s layers. Keep them stored inside the document. Transfer anywhere.
Layer Notes is a Photoshop plugin (extension) that makes these possible.
Each layer in a Photoshop document can have its own note, and all notes are stored inside the document. If a Photoshop document is copied or sent to someone, it will also keep the notes inside.
Layer Notes can be used with any layer type such as raster, vector, smart layers (and their content inside), adjustment layers or groups, except for the (locked) Background layer.
With the extension panel open, every time you select a layer, the interface will allow you to type in text for a note that will be stored in the currently selected layer.
There is no Save button, notes are stored when typing.
Each time a different layer is selected, the extension’s interface changes to reflect the content of the layer – whether it has or it doesn’t have a note.
Since a document can have a lot of layers with notes, the interface displays the numbers of notes (layers with notes) and allows the easy selection of layers containing notes.
Notes can have any length and can also store special characters.
