will this work in Illustrator CC?
I am currently downloading illustrator cc and I will test it out and get back to you.
From my test this item will work with Illustrator CC. If you purchase it and have any problems let me know and I would love to help you out.
I have a problem with some object when expand more than 100% in AI the edge of shadow will show glitch and not smooth
Here is an example http://postimg.org/image/skqpv4mtl/
How can I resolve this problem? I used AI 6
I will be glad to take a look into this for you. However I am on vacation till Wednesday of this week and only have a cell phone. Once I return home I will look into it and get back to you with a solution.
First off I would like to thank you for your purchase. Second, there is really no way to completely get rid of the rough edges that you see when you zoom in. I was able to improve the quality though. Below are some screenshots of the old version and an improved version. Keep in mind that these are zoomed all the way in at 4800% so when zoomed out it is nearly impossible to notice the effect.
Again you can still see the effect but it is very subtle, and isn’t noticeable once you zoom out. This change is going to take me a while to complete for all the actions so I ask for 24 hours to make these changes and If you could send me an email through my profile, I will be able to send you the file right away instead of having to wait for it to be approved and re-download the file.
I have a very fast machine (win7 64/i7 hexacore 3.8/32g ram/SSD working drive) running Illustrator CC. I have run into an issue with this action hanging on the “applying add filter”
Thanks for your purchase, From what I can see is that you are trying to do to much with the action. I am using a second gen mac book air so very low specs and it does work. Once you start with words it becomes tricky as there is a lot of information there.
1st Tip: make sure the words are scaled down to fit into that blue cube or as close as you can. You can scale them back up after the effect.
2nd Tip: If you have two words ungroup them and do them separate as this will make the action work better and faster.
3rd Tip: Be patient. Again I am working on a mac book air which is very low specs and it took as long as 1-2 min at times. Works much faster on my imac but just wanted to check that it actually went through if patient.
Let me know if you still have problems. I hope that this helps you and you are able to continue with your work. I think the biggest thing will be to shrink down your text or separate words will make it work much better.
Again thanks for your purchase,
Hello, I keep getting the message: The object “Send Backward” is not currently available.
May I ask what version of illustrator that you are using? That would be the first thing I would need to know in order to help you.
Thanks for your purchase,
I`m using the CS6 (64-bit) version. Thanks.
This has me puzzled. It works fine on my machine and I am also using CS6. Are you able to select an object and send it backward with the “Send Backward” Command normally? Can you send me a screenshot of what you are trying to do when you get this error message? And do you get it every time? Or are there times when the action works?
I am sorry that I don’t have a better answer for you, I will work my hardest to find out a reason for it.
I have the same problem:
The object “Send Backward” is not currently available.
> Ai CS6 (64-bit), Win 8
Hello RobinD, I am sorry for this inconvenience. Can you send me a screenshot of what you are trying to do and make sure that the layers panel is open so I can see all the layers you are trying to use. I have some ideas as to why this is doing it, but need to confirm it before I post a topic about it. Are you able to use the action at all, or do you receive the error every the time?
Again SO SORRY, and I hope to hear from you soon,
screenshots with layers.
Unfortunately does not work ever.
Thank you R
Hello RobinD, Okay I think I have figured out your problem as I was able to recreate the same two errors. First make sure that your object/word is turned to outlines. Once that is complete make sure the object is placed in the File “LS Object Placement.ai” included within the .ZIP File. There is a blue square in which to place your item. Once the action is complete and you have your item you may copy and paste to any other document. Please keep me up to date as to if this fixed your problem. Again thanks so much for the purchase I really appreciate it.
This is works fine with illustrator CS5 ?
Yes, this will work fine in CS 5
One more quastion:
How many points generate this, when i want to Expand the shadow?
It will depend on the shape object that your are making, and which action you select. Should be at least 1205pts and higher for some of the longer diagonal shadows. Hope this answered your question, and if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.
I’m in CC and it crashes everytime. Also I didn’t understand your instructions about checking the boxes in preferences- did you mean make sure they are checked or unchecked- you wrote checked/unchecked, so I didn’t know what that meant
it works with simple objects- i had a complex group and that is why it crashed. but would still like know about the boxes. thanks!
First off, Thank You so much for the purchase. Second, The boxes in preferences being unchecked and checked wouldn’t relate to this action. That is a mistake on my part to have that line included in this action. All that was referring to is if the graphic style had a repeating pattern having that box checked or unchecked would result in different appearances once the item would be moved.
Again thanks for the purchase,
Thank you for this script, work just fine.
I would like to ask if there is even a shorter preset, or is there a way to shorten even the shortest shadow?
What happens to me is that I scale down my objects – to fit into the blue square, and once I scale up the object – or vector type (expanded), the shadow is very big in comparison to the object.
Thank you so much for your purchase!!!! Once you run the script does the results look like you want them to? (Shadow Length wise) If so when it is scaled up it should maintain the same proportions.
There really isn’t an easy way for me to tell you how to make a smaller preset. With that said, if you take a screenshot of what you are trying to accomplish I would be able to add an additional preset for you that is a bit smaller then what I previously have.
I will wait to hear back from you,
I’m also having the same problem of “The Object “Send Backward” is not currently available.
I’ve taken the screenshots for your kind help.
Its hard to tell based on the image you provided of your item, but the white boxes need to be knocked out so all you would have would be the black items. The remaining pieces also need to be grouped as well. I recreated your exact item and doing these steps the item worked for me. If you need the item to have the white between the shadow and the black portion, the shadow is on its own layer so you could just add a white section between the item and the shadow. Please keep me informed, let me know if this fixed the problem for you. IF you are still having difficulties please let me know and I will keep working with you. Also if you are still having difficulties what version of Adobe Illustrator are you using?
Thanks for your Purchase,
Thanks for the prompt reply!
what “White boxes” were you referring to? The Boxes surrounding the icon? I did an image trace, expand and deleted all the white spaces. Also, i’ve grouped them together. I”m currently using CS6 as well.
I’ve uploaded the step by step methods i used.
Thank you for much for your assistance. Looking forward to your reply.
I am sorry that this problem is still existing. It’s really hard for me to fix it when I don’t run into it. Knowing that doesn’t mean the problem don’t exist. Could you provide me with a screenshot of your layers before you run the script?
I would just like to say thank you for helping me out in this process, the other commenter never returned communication making it hard on me to try and fix it. So Thanks for helping me out, and sorry that you are running into these problems.
Thanks for the help!
I’ve uploaded all the necessary layers for your advice.
Looking forward to your favourable reply
New pictures are called “New Layers before run script 1 & New Layers before run script 2.
Hello Again Shaunleeweirong,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I was trying to trouble shoot it and I wanted to exhaust all options before writing you back. I wasn’t able to find anything to change for this to 100 percent work for you. However with that said I think I may of came up with a solution for you to use the action with an additional step.
Go into actions, and expand the desired action and delete “Send Backwards” (should be on the bottom of the aciton) the Drag it to trash. This should get the action to run all the way through, just that your shadow will be on top of your item instead of behind it. Go into layers and unlock the bottom layer and move the shadow below it and you should be good to go. Let me know if you any help with this process.
I am trying to use your action, but whenever I click on the action, the error message shows “The Object “Expand Appearance” is not currently available”.
Here is the screenshot https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4kTyWN1fu7mR21GY2d0LUlNTGs/view?usp=sharing
Hope to hear from you soon.
All the best,
Thank you so much for purchasing my item. I really appreciate it and am sorry that you are running into trouble. Make sure that you are using the template that I provide, and place your item in the the middle box. The item can be scaled up if need be later. Try this step and let me know if you have success. Again sorry that you are experiencing problems, I will work with you until we get this fixed.
The actions don’t work in Adobe CC.
Hello Stangerards, lets start off by thanking you for the purchase. Can you explain more into what isn’t working? Are you having trouble trying to complete a certain task? I have tested this with CC before, but will download the latest version this weekend and look more in depth to any issues you may be having. Sorry for any delays this may have caused you.
Just bought this to find out it isn’t working with CC. I’m getting a dialog saying ‘The object “Expand Appearance” is not currently available.
The Action is not working with CC… I’m getting a dialog box saying ‘the object “expand Appearance” is not currently available.. What should I do?
Hi TamarYehudar – I would be glad to assist you with your problems. is there a way in which you can take a screenshot of what you are trying to apply the long shadow effect to? This will help me troubleshoot this solution.
Hi TamarYehudar – I just had time to sit down with this error. I am using CC 2018 and followed the setup instructions that I provided in the how-to. Everything seems to be working on my end. With that said please provide as much information to me as I am willing to help resolve this issue for you. Make sure that you are using the provided placement file. Also if you go to the top menu do you see the following – “Object” then half way down that menu list will be “Expand Appearance”? I just want to make sure that certain versions include this action.
Thanks again for the purchase, and sorry for the inconvenience.
hello, Thanx for responding quickly to my problem. I now used the placement file and it’s working – thank you. But It will not work on any other open file – what if I need to apply the action on multiple objects at once?
