Easy to use template where you can open a smart-object to place a background image. Only basic Photoshop Knowledge is needed. When the smart-object is saved the image will be set as a blur background and with a sharp cutout in the devices viewfinder.
There are some general settings to play with like grain, color effects, duo and monotones presets. And some folders / maps have some adjustment layers to play with so foreground and background come together.
Layers in PSD:
1. Smart-Object to set background and the focus in the devices viewfinder 2. Effects folder 3. Template 1 – Hand with phone vertical 4. Template 2 – Hands holding camera 5. Template 3 – Dirty Hands taking photo 6. Template 4 – Hand with phone horizontal 7. Template 5 – Midnight Photograph 8. Template 6 – 2 Hands with phone
Use the ‘Make it darker’ layer to quickly add some darkness to the background so the device will pop out more. Adjust the layer opacity to control the amount of darkness.
The file is 2400×1600 300DPI so good to use for web and print.
1. Open Scenery-Take-Photo.psd 2. Doubleclick on layer 1 3. Photoshop opens the smart object in a new window 4. Drag in a photo, place a photo or copy paste a photo. 5. Transform the image so it fills the canvas completely 6. Save and close the smart object. 7. Choose a template (layer 1 – 8. Open the chosen template and see what adjustments are available 9. Make adjustments 10. Open folder effects to choose a grainy effect, make it a duo or mono tone or some light settings.
Make effects less by giving it less layer opacity. To give the background more blur double click on the background in the template layers and adjust the smartfilter.
