Great item. But I think the price is a little bit low… Only $10?
Hey thanks, yeh I think that’s a little low. Its got 11 layouts which apparently should but it in the $15 category. I’ve emailed relevant peeps, see if I can get it fixed.
Looks good but I disagree about the price being too low. It’s missing a table of contents, editor’s page, publisher’s page, and masthead. Without those it seems incomplete.
It has all those things, have you looked at the preview?
I have looked at the preview. I missed the Editor’s Page but can now see the text in the larger screen. Can you point out which page you consider to be the masthead? Are you thinking the “Who Writes This Stuff” page? If so, which page would you consider to be the Contributors Page?
As for table of contents, I see that you have an “Inside” page with no page numbers for the sections but that looks to only be for featured stories right?
Yes the inside page is the contents page, remember this is an interactive magazine, you can tap the story preview to jump to the story. Traditional page numbers are no longer required.
I think we have some confusion around what the term masthead means. A masthead in the uk is the designed title on the cover, its something different in the US: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masthead_(publishing)
I think your referring to what I would call the inprint, which is what the who writes this stuff page is, a highbred contributors/inprint page. As obviously I have a masthead on the cover!
Though I agree about it being interactive, I still think pages number are expected. It’s not problem for me to add them, so I’ll do that.
As for the inprint page, the “who writes this stuff page” will work but it is not sufficient for a Contributors page where you have their well-sized photo and bio. Contributors, especially your features ones, might want more than a small thumbnail & social links. None of the other pages in your design are easily re-purposed into a Contributors Page so I think that’s something that still needs to be added.
Thanks for purchasing, i attempt to cover most bases in the template and provide all the page elements you might need, but its their for you guys as the customer to build on, tweak and turn it into your final product. I hope you like the template, id love to see your finished product!
wonderful work mate
Good work. Nice overall look. However, the leading in titles is awkward, the spacing is wrong calculated and the lines are overlapping, I think that really needs to be fixed. Maybe you’ll take a look at that. I hope this constructive critique helps. Cheers!
Hi thanks for the comments, the leading does look tight on the preview, but fire this up on an iPad and it looks fine. All my iPad templates are constantly tested on my iPad during the design process to ensure everything looks great.
As you can imagine, the iPad screen resolution and colours are very different to what you see on your monitor.
Well done, congrats for a feature!
Looks great ! Are there any interactive elements (image sequences, overlays, ...) within the magazine?
Thanks, no interactive elements at the moment, but I’m currently working on an update so watch this space.
It there a way to do a global change on colors?
And how about global content updating?
If you change the colour in the colour pallete it will change the whole document
The most complete, thought out, template, that came with all assets and resources needed. This should be the prototype on how to deliver a template.
Hey thanks! means a lot!
I am a complete newbie so please forgive my ignorance. My company is creating a hunting magazine with embedded videos and I am wondering if this template will work across all platforms? Android, ipad, and computer subscriptions?
Hi, I’m really sorry I didn’t see this question come in.. Yes this template will work fine, obviously you would need to resize the document to the correct screen size for an android device, but the layouts and artwork remains the same
Good luck with sales! Looks great.
