I don’t see the option for extended license
For the label layers, I had to “Convert to Smart Object” in order to edit them; using CS6. Otherwise great mockup! Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! I’m surprised it works in CS6, but glad you found a workaround!
I cant figure out how to use this download or where to open it on my adobe. Do you need a certain version?
Hi Crystal. It’s a Photoshop file with linked Illustrator vector objects. Suggested version is CC 2014 or newer. (See the file description above for more details).
The ideal work flow would be to open up the PSD in Photoshop, edit the art however you like, then update the Illustrator files either by double clicking on their layers in Photoshop or by simply opening them up in Illustrator and saving them when you’re done.
Technically you could do everything you needed just in Photoshop, but you’d give up some of the cooler functionality (i.e. the ability to update your brand as a separate, usable file plus have it appear in the mockup automatically any time a change was made).
While I wouldn’t call it a terribly complex tool, if you’re not familiar with smart objects, then you’ll probably need to brush up with some tutorials. Or just tinker.
If you run into trouble, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Does it come with the soaps show in the item image?
Indeed it does!
Hi, Wouldn’t it be nice to disclose in your instructions/Readme that users need to install photoshop? I just bought this but I cannot edit it. Will this ever make me do business with you again? I will appreciate if you can fix this. Thanks
Every Envato / Graphic River product has a Product Description which identifies 1) what the tool is 2) what software is required to use it and 3) what version of that software is required in order to run it.
If you did not see the Product Description prior to purchasing, please contact the Envato team to let them know – https://help.elements.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests
I didn’t realize I needed photoshop either. Are there any other options?
My apologies, Jenny, but this tool is built specifically for Adobe Photoshop (with a few parts for Illustrator) only.
This product is a waste of money. I downloaded and am not able to edit it. Very disappointed
Hi Julie. I’m sorry you’re having a difficult time with the tool. Can you give me any specifics on your troubles? I’d be happy to help you work through any issues you might be having.
i cannot edit it at all no layers as it says show up making it uneditable
If you’re using an up-to-date version of Photoshop, then when opening the “nis-soap-label-mockup.psd” file, you should see 8 layers + groups. 3 of those layers are color coded green. Each of those green layers is a smart object which can be customized.
In order to make any changes to the file, you’ll need to open a smart object by double clicking on it’s layer thumbnail in the layers panel, edit that file once it opens in a new window, then save it and close it. As soon as you save the smart object file, then the parent file will update with all effects and transforms applied. If you’re not familiar with working with smart objects, then this is probably where you’re running into trouble.
If, after you try editing the smart objects you’re still having trouble figuring it out, let me know and I’ll walk you through step by step. We’ll have you up and running in no time.
it needs instructions. I feel like i wasted my money. i keep trying but i cannot edit it
You’ll notice in the PSD (at the very top of the layers panel) that there is a layer group called “Instructions”. Click on the eyeball icon beside that group to toggle on the instructions.
Additionally, the ReadMe.pdf file provided with the package also contains instructions, documentation, and screenshots which explain the contents, structure, and usage thoroughly.
If, after reviewing either the instructions in the PSD or in ReadMe.pdf file, you’re still having trouble figuring out how to use Photoshop smart objects, I’ll be happy to walk you through their usage.
I can’t find the layers panel
I’m working on a Mac and it only opens in preview. There is no layers pallet or eyeball
I see. Do you have Photoshop installed on your Mac? If so, what version?
Perhaps we should have this conversation via email: email@example.com where we can quickly figure out what’s going on.
no i don’t didn’t know i needed it
Are you able to make the Soap Label run the other way on the bar ?
For example the bar is bar is horizontal with the label running vertical center in the middle
Hi stranger! While that option isn’t part of the pre made package, it’s built in such a way that if you’re comfortable working with smart objects, you could do it pretty easily and quickly.
If you already know the dimensions of the label you’ll be printing, then resize the label from inside its smart object container (save + close the smart object). If you don’t know the final dimensions and are just tinkering with concepts, then skip ahead.
Rotate the label and bar however you like and tweak the lighting effects however makes sense to your new orientation. At that point you should be good to go. Let me know if you run into any trouble or if I can answer anything else.
Great! Thank you – Nice natural looking soaps!
