Stencil Art Creator Photoshop Action
Stencil Art Creator is a Photoshop action that produces photo-realistic stencil artwork from just about any image. Play the action and your image will be sprayed as stencil artwork before being superimposed onto a backdrop of your choice. 8 seamlessly tillable backdrops are included or you can simple copy and past your own image into a dedicated layer – your artwork will be automatically superimposed onto your backdrop in real-time.
Easy to use
Turn any image into a piece of stencil artwork in 4 easy steps:
- Open your image in Photoshop
- Select the are you want to spray
- Play the action
- Paste your own custom backdrop image or select one of the 8 tiling backdrops included with the action
The action has been tested on CS5, CS6 and CC English versions of Adobe Photoshop on both Mac and PC.
Making Life Easier
All elements produced in the action are separated into sensibly ordered and intuitively named layers. Settings layers are also created allowing further control of how your artwork is applied to the backdrop and can be easily changed by adjusting the opacity of each layer.
Additional actions are also included which can add, remove or re-apply drips and also help in masking areas of your artwork from your backdrop.
Designed to make the most of your images
We recommend that your image should be between 2000px – 4000px wide/high (along whichever is the longer axis) to get the best results. However, because the perfect image isn’t always the one taken professionally at a high resolution we developed the Stencil Art Creator action to be extremely forgiving when rendering images. Both high and low quality imagery have proven to give stunning results, as long as they are re-sized to within the recommended range before playing the action.

The action has been tested with over 100 different images in order to ensure operational effectiveness. A wide variety of source imagery has also been tested which helped us refine how the action works, including:
