If you’re sure that you followed all the steps correctly but for some reason, you’re still experiencing issues with the action, please follow this troubleshooting guide to fix the most common issues. This is a universal guide that may be applied to any action by Eugene-design. Please note, that some of the steps included below, work only for certain actions and may be not actual for the other actions.

Error: ‘The command “Select” is not currently available’

  • Make sure that you created a new layer, named it ‘area’, and painted over the focus area.
  • Make sure that you loaded the brushes file. Starting from Photoshop CC 2020 brushes and patterns were changed. You can learn how to load it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaYUPycjUug If you’re using Mac, please read the instructions below the video.
  • Make sure that the layer with the image has a Background view. It should be named ‘Background’ and should be locked. If it’s not, select the layer with the photo and go to Layer->New->Background from Layer.

    Error: ‘Warning: No pixels are selected’

  • Make sure that you painted a focus area on layer ‘area’.
  • Make sure that you loaded the patterns file. Starting from Photoshop CC 2020 brushes and patterns were changed. You can learn how to load it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaYUPycjUug If you’re using Mac, please read the instructions below the video.
  • Make sure that you’re using a compatible action file.

    Error: ‘Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible’

  • Make sure that the Opacity and Flow of the brush tool are set to 100%. Also, set the Smoothing value to 5%.
  • Make sure that your image is well balanced. Open the image and go to Image / Auto contrast.
  • Make sure that the opacity of the layer ‘area’ is set to 100%. Before painting the area, set the Opacity and Flow of the brush tool to 100%.
  • Increase the resolution of your image.
  • Make sure that you’re using a compatible action file.

    Error: ‘Could not complete the Color Range command because of a program error’
